Pricing

RingCentral vs Nextiva pricing, explained

RingCentral pricing

RingEX has two self-serve tiers on its pricing page. Core is $20/user/month billed annually or $30 monthly. Advanced is $25/user/month annually or $35 monthly and adds CRM integrations, multi-site support, reporting, 1,000 toll-free minutes and 100 SMS per user per month. Above that, RingCentral sells AI Customer Engagement bundles that include its AI Receptionist, priced by quote. RingCentral says paying annually saves up to 33%.

Add-ons are where totals climb: the AI Receptionist starts at $39, the Business SMS Booster is $25 and the Call Queues Booster is $35. Taxes and fees such as E911 and cost-recovery fees are added on top, and SMS requires carrier (TCR) registration.

Nextiva pricing

Nextiva's small-business plans are Core at $15/user/month, Engage at $25 and Scale at $75. The Core and Engage prices are annual: Nextiva says its annual Small Business pricing requires a paid 12-month or longer minimum term. Month to month, Core is $23/user and Engage is $50/user.

Core includes 100 texts per user per month, Engage 500 and Scale unlimited. XBert, Nextiva's AI receptionist, is an add-on on every plan at $99/month per 100 interactions, then $0.99 per interaction after that.

Features

What you actually get

Both are mature platforms with voice, business texting, video meetings, team chat, auto-attendants and mobile apps.

RingCentral puts more in the entry tier: Core includes on-demand call recording, 100 toll-free minutes, HD meetings for up to 300 people and its AI Virtual Assistant. Advanced adds CRM integrations, multi-site support and 1,000 toll-free minutes.

Nextiva Core covers voice, business SMS, video meetings, call routing and team chat. Engage adds customer-to-team texting, a toll-free number with minutes, advanced reporting, and live chat and chatbot. AI call notes, summaries and real-time transcription arrive on Scale ($75/user), which is a full customer experience platform with skills-based routing. Nextiva lists 24/7 support on all plans.

AI answering is an add-on on both, with different meters: RingCentral's AI Receptionist starts at $39, while Nextiva's XBert bills per interaction after the first 100.

The verdict

Which should you choose?

Choose RingCentral if you want more included at the entry tier (recording, toll-free minutes, meetings), you value month-to-month flexibility, or you need multi-site support on Advanced.

Choose Nextiva if you'll sign a 12-month term for the lowest per-seat price, or you want customer-facing channels like live chat and a toll-free number on Engage.

Both get expensive as you add seats and add-ons, and on both, the AI that answers calls is extra.
